I thought it would be nice to have a go at baking some brioche buns to enjoy on one of those lazy mornings we all look forward to…little did I know that I needed to start the dough the night before! But this made perfect sense as it is something that you can easily put together, especially if you have a good food mixer that kneads the dough for you. The prepared dough is then popped into the fridge overnight. The next morning the anticipation of sweet brioche buns was too much so I was up bright and early as they need another hour to prove once shaped.

You can imagine the smell of them baking in the oven circulating around the house along with freshly brewed coffee, hmmmm, a match made in heaven. As soon as they were out of the oven, I could not resist any longer and pulled a very hot brioche bun apart and smeared it with home made rhubarb & ginger jam, yummy!! They are just the right size and would make a perfect addition to your brunch table. Who doesn’t enjoy brunch….
