On Sunday 29th October I hosted a birthday baking party with 9 eager children who were looking forward to a bit of baking!
Invitations sent out and a lot of anticipation of what to expect when they all arrived.
The party was held at the birthday girl’s house so I arrived with all my goodies ready to set up for the party. I bring everything with me including aprons, baking mats, rolling pins and of course all of the ingredients.
The children got to make individual mini pizzas with toppings of their choice such as peppers, ham, sweetcorn, mushrooms, salami. All of the pizzas were then cooked ready for them to be eaten straightaway or taken home to share with their family.
We then moved onto the sweet element of the baking party – teddy bear shortbread – where their creativity ran wild. They all produced unique shortbread using glace icing, sprinkles, sugar paste and m and m’s.
Once everything was made, they all enjoyed some party food that I had prepared – a few sandwiches, mini sausages, chopped cucumber, cherry tomatoes, cubed cheese, crisps and fruit skewers. Some of the children decided to eat their pizza and shortbread as well!
Here is a group photo showing some very happy faces, including mine!
